After Completing the Course you would be able to:

  • Understand simple information from questions, notices, phone calls, radio etc. about an everyday situation and in brief conversations.
  • Gather information from short written messages, advertisements, letters and simple newspaper articles. Write brief personal messages.
  • Introduce yourself in a conversation and answer questions about yourself.
  • Ask and reply to simple questions in a conversation on topics affecting you.
  • Express yourself clearly and in a structured way in writing on the subject of complex matters and also correct mistakes in texts written by other people.
  • Give oral comments on general subjects and topics of your interest.

GERMAN Goethe-Zertifikat A1: Start Deutsch 1

The Goethe-Zertifikat A1: Start Deutsch 1 certifies that the learner has acquired basic German language skills. It is the easiest test offered by the Goethe-Institute. In order to pass the examination, participants must understand around 650 words and be able to use 300 words actively. The German courses in which these skills are developed consist of 160 lessons on average.

The Goethe-Zertifikat B2

for study / scholarship

The Goethe-Zertifikat B2 requires advanced language skills. The examination corresponds to level four (B2) on the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.


Certificates issued by the Goethe-Institute are recognized throughout the world.

DUTCH intro to New Basic Exam KNS (Knowledge of Dutch Society)

  • The Kennis van de Nederlandse Samenleving (Knowledge of Dutch Society) part of the examination consists of questions about Dutch society, all of which will relate to the film Naar Nederland. You must watch the film at home. It is available in various languages. Every DVD also includes the Dutch version. The test questions are in Dutch and you must answer in Dutch.
  • You can study all questions and answers at home. There are 100 questions in the photo book. During the examination at the embassy you will be required to answer thirty of these questions. You will see photos from the book on the computer and will hear one question about each photo. You will hear the questions one at a time through the headset. You click on the right answer with the mouse.


This part of the examination assesses your ability to read and understand written Dutch at Level A1 of common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Reading proficiency comprises two parts:

  1. A) The candidate hears a word and chooses from four written answer options + the candidate reads a word and chooses from four spoken answer options.
  2. B) In this part, the candidate sees reading texts on the screen; two multiple choice questions are asked with three or four answer options.


This part of the examination assesses your ability to understand and speak Dutch. This part of the examination consists of two parts: Question-Answer; Completing sentences. This part of the exam takes 30 minutes. If you fail one of the parts, you will have to do the whole exam again.

Fluency comprises two parts:

  1. A) Question-Answer: The candidate receives questions and has to formulate his/her own answers.
  2. B) Completing sentences: The candidate hears a short sentence, followed by the first part of a sentence the candidate has to complete.
